And while it can be fun and cut down the time it takes to pick up the phone or write a letter, it has gotten a tad bit out of hand at times. I'm thankful the internet, as it is today, wasn't around in my late teens - early 20's. I would probably have many regrets today.<br /><br />I have no need to put my entire life on display, which seems to be the norm these days. Whether it be message boards, Myspace, Facebook, Twitter or Youtube, (I won't even go into other means that people use to show EVERYTHING.) people want to get more than their 15 minutes of fame these days.<br /><br />I wonder how many people today will look back 20 years from now and regret what they did?<br /><br /> How many moms will hope their kids never find those pictures online that she let her boyfriend in college take of the both of them with that girl they met at a sorority party? You know, the one where you're doing things and in positions you won't even let your husband do to you.<br /><br />Or how about the one where every dad thought he could skateboard off the roof into a pile of beer cans that he and his 20 friends spent all day emptying? You know, the moment where you overshoot the pile and end up catching the basketball goal in your parent's driveway and fall into your dad's mercedes, shattering the window.<br /><br />Or the moment some stranger catches you in your lone run-in with the law as a young rebel. Ahh your kids will get a kick out of watching dad getting tasered and screaming like their little sister.<br /><br />No, you won't be seeing any of that kind of stuff here, which brings me to my original question. Why blog?<br /><br />Well if you've stuck around after my rambling then I can tell you that sometimes I just like to talk about stuff that interests me, whether it be a sporting event, a CD, a movie or it could be just a random thought that pops into my head about something past or present.<br /><br />I think a blog provides a bit more of a personal touch compared to Facebook or a message board.
